Your website is your brand’s face to the internet. You should be optimizing it for the better conversions and visitors. Website speed is one factor that matters a lot in SEO and visitor time spent on the website. The data shows that people visit 11% less if your website takes a second longer, and conversions get affected by 7%.

5 Smart Ways to Speed Up Your Website to Improve Conversion rate

The data doesn’t lie, so you need to upgrade your website speed to get loaded easily, and people can take actions on it. There are 10 smart ways you can do that.

1. HTTP Requests
Every element on the website contributes to the HTTP requests, the large number of elements means longer website load time. You need to cut down the unnecessary elements. Remove unnecessary images, scripts, and elements that are not serving the real purpose. Make the whole website streamline and smooth, so the website load time. Make sure that the scripts are at the bottom of the page.

2. Decrease Server Response Time
Need to set the target of server response time less than 200 ms. This is the ideal case. You need to monitor your server response time by web applications. Google’s page speed tool can be your ally in measuring and rectifying the problem.

3. Compression
You need to introduce the compression to the large pages because they are usually more than 100 Kb. Anything more than 100 kb needs to be compressed so that HTTP requests can be optimized. The compression reduces the bandwidth of the pages and thus, reducing the page load time.

4. Website Cache
If you enable browser cache, some elements of the website get stored on the visitor computer, so next time he/she visits again, the website doesn’t fully load, only the elements that are a missing load. This can save time by a huge margin, but also, if the content of the website is updated, it won’t show because the browser will display cached version. But for the first time visitors, you need to decrease the website load time.

5. Optimize Images
When a website loads, images are the heaviest parts, in some cases videos also. You need to optimize the visual content of your website so that it can load faster. You can decrease the size of the images with compromising the quality, but make sure you keep the quality to size ratio maintained.

Nobody wants bad images, even if they load in a split second. To maintain the healthy ratio. Know your website dimensions and adjust according to that. JPEG and PNG are preferred formats.

These steps are inevitably going to make the load time significantly lower. There are a lot of other ways, but these have the most impact on the load time.

You will see a significant improvement in Google rankings and page views after you decrease your website load time. Google considers page load time a significant factor in SEO, so start working speeding up your website.
